How can I obtain a copy of their fee invoices?

Members may obtain a copy of their invoices and Statement of Account by logging onto our portal my.afrinic.net and follow the simple step by step procedures:

  1. Log in on https://my.afrinic.net
  2. Click on Billing >Summary Statement
  3. Select the invoice
  4. Click on View (on your right)
  5. Download invoice
Can a member request for a stamped hard copy invoice to be sent to the member via courier?

YES, a member may request for originals stamped & signed invoices be sent to them instead of soft copies via email. Such request must reach AFRINIC before 1st November before the annual billing exercise. However, such member shall bear the cost of the courier service and a separate invoice shall be included which covers the courier services charge. Members are expected to settle both the Fee invoice and the courier services change at the same time.

 

What should I do when one of my registered contacts leaves my organisation?

It is the responsibility of the member to ensure that their contact information in AFRINIC database is accurate at all times. Contacts with Administration credentials must review and update all contact information. Should the member require any assistance in this regard, an email must be sent to our Member Services, who will gladly help. We highly recommend that member review all their registered contacts once every year to ensure accuracy.

Where can I find the latest fee structures?

What is the impact on membership fees should an LIR member be allocated additional resources?

When an existing member request and is allocated additional resources, such additional resources may or may not impact the member’s category (hence annual membership fee). However, should there be a change in the member’s existing category as a result of the additional resources, no invoice shall be raised for the remainder of the calendar year. Member shall be notified immediately of any changes in category and any change in fees shall be reflected in the next billing cycle.

When are End Sites renewal fee invoices issued?

End Sites membership fees renewal is done on the anniversary of the membership period; which may be at any time during the year. Unlike the LIR members, End Sites membership period commences in the month in which the organisation becomes a member.

What are the billing periods for End Sites?

Membership Fees for End Sites are collected for three (3) years on the anniversary of the membership period. However, End Sites members may elect to be billed for a period of not less than 12 months at a time. AFRINIC is reviewing the possibility of End Sites membership fees to an annual basis.

 

For End Sites ASN only, the Membership fee shall be collected for three (3) years in the first instance and subsequently every six (6) years.

Can End Sites be billed annually?

YES, End Sites may choose to be billed for a period of not less than 12 months. Such request must reach AFRINIC Billing team prior to the billing anniversary. 

What are the applicable fees for new members joining in the middle of a calendar year?

AFRINIC fee structure provides that for NEW members joining in the middle of the calendar year, membership fees shall be applied on a pro rata basis as per the attached table:

 

The pro rata applies to membership fees ONLY and not the Initial Setup Fees. Please contact the AFRINIC Billing Team (billing@afrinic.net) if in need of any clarifications.

 

What are the fees applicable to an existing member requesting IPv6 resources?

As per the existing fee structure, existing members requesting IPv6 resources shall not be charged any additional fees for the IPv6 allocations. In addition, the IPv6 block shall not be included in the calculations which set the member’s billing category. However, such special provisions are subject to review from time to time and members shall be updated accordingly.

 

Can payment be effected using the PayPal platform?

NO, unfortunately, due to constraints beyond our control, at this point AFRINIC does not accept payments by members via the PayPal platform. Members shall be notified should there be new development in this particular area.

Why is it important for members to amend their registered contact details on MyAfrinic portal?

AFRINIC relies on the members to ensure that members contact information is maintained up to date. These contacts are critical when sending out various communications, including invoices, reminders, newsletters, urgent communiques, invitations and for members during the annual voting exercise.  

 

How can I effect payment of fees by Credit Card?

Payment by Credit Card is only possible through our member portal. To so, valid member with appropriate access credential should follow the simple step as described below: :

  1. Log in on https://my.afrinic.net
  2. Click on Billing >pay Bill Online
  3. Fill in the required Credit card details and submit

Any authorised user who has a myafrinic login credential and tagged as billing contact on myafrinic may effect a Credit Card payment.

Who bears the bank charges on fees remittances?

All bank charges relating to the remittance of membership fees to AFRINIC must be borne by the remitter or must be added onto the amount being remitted.

 

Who bears the responsibilities for all local taxes; withholding tax, VAT etc?

All local withholding taxes, VAT and other taxes are the responsibility of the member. Should member require an invoice inclusive of such taxes, a request must be made to billing@afrinic.net .
